Seahawks Punch Postseason Berth with Nail-biting Overtime Triumph over Los Angeles Rams.

Game-winning play in the extra period

Receiver Saubert executed the game-winning two-point play for the Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks engineered a remarkable fightback to defeat the Los Angeles Rams in extra time, securing their spot in the NFL play-offs.

Rallying from a sixteen-point hole in the final period, the Seahawks emerged victorious by a single point at home, notching their fifth straight win.

While the Rams had become the first to earn a playoff berth earlier on Sunday, the Seahawks secured their place to the play-offs after a two-year hiatus.

With this result, the Seahawks have taken over their division's standings with a twelve and three mark, replacing the Rams, who dropped to the number five playoff position with an 11-4 standing.

Game Recap

Quarterback Darnold had two picks but regrouped to make two touchdown passes, culminating in the tying TD to wideout Smith-Njigba in overtime.

The Rams held a six-point lead at half-time before Walker broke free for a long scoring dash for the home side.

Los Angeles defensive back Josh Wallace then returned Darnold's first pick for a big return, leading to a one-yard score by Blake Corum on the ensuing snap.

In the final stanza, a scoring pass from Matthew Stafford to Puka Nacua pushed the Rams' lead to 30-14, but Shaheed ignited Seattle's comeback with a 58-yard punt return.

Darnold then connected with Barner in the endzone, and a converted two-point play sent the game into overtime.

Although Nacua raced in for his second touchdown in OT, Jaxon Smith-Njigba answered in kind to set up the game-winning score.
